Following Motorcycle Accident
Following a motorcycle accident, Richard Clarke sped up my recovery by taking me through a rehabilitation programme. Impressed with his professionalism and knowledge, I then took part in several 3 month fitness programmes...looking back, one of the biggest benefits was how Richard analysed my diet and changed it for the good...this knowledge is priceless. She Had Lost Her Way
I had lost my way training wise after the death of my beloved older brother and was struggling with stress and anxiety. I joined one of Richards groups and...I haven’t looked back since. I feel fitter and happier than I have in a long time and I’ve also lost inches and pounds.
What I really love about Rich is he says it like it is and he cares for his clients. I can be a bit “gung ho” when it comes to training and Rich reins that in to make sure I stay fit and uninjured. Richard has changed my life for the better and that’s no exaggeration.
Taking Less Medication
Started with Rich around 10 weeks ago, during that time and by following his advice I have lost over 3 stone(42lbs)!! Having had arthritis for very many years which resulted in a double knee replacement and taking a ridiculous amount of tablets daily for this condition I am now taking a fraction of the amount prescribed by my G.P. My G.P. can’t get over the change and is very impressed. I would certainly recommend Richard to anyone.
Had Many A Chuckle

Not Confident After Knee Injury
You helped me a great deal after my knee injury as I was not confident in doing any exercise incase I aggravated the injury. The exercise plan you did for me was great, very simple but effective. You were also very encouraging and very good at motivating me. Thanks
Richard Helped In So Many Ways
Richard helped me in so many ways, even though I had many ailments, he helped me to believe in myself, weight loss, his recipes are delicious, didn't feel like I was on a diet, just healthy eating, but most of all Richard is very inspiring and often if I was having a bad day you could guarantee I would walk out of the gym smiling. I Trust Him
Ah, what can I say about 'darling Rich'.......He lights up my Tuesday evenings, and my Saturday mornings!
It's only half hour - 40 mins, and goes by like a flash. After a session with Rich I feel like my batteries have been charged...
He's such a nice guy, gives me advice, guidance and plenty of encouragement. His daily e mails are informative and fun. I have learned about nutrition and fitness. He has a wealth of knowledge.
What I particularly like is that I feel comfortable in his gym...and I trust him. He has helped me reach my goals.
The Greatest Bit Is Me
Having been quite seriously ill and knowing a few of the girls who have been supported by Rich, it has taken my nearly two years to join his program. (Due to ill health)
I am just coming up to my first twelve weeks, have lost weight, changed body shape but the greatest bit is me! How I feel and my mindset. Having been in a wheelchair back in October. I am back to my old self ...and have never felt happier than I do at the minute. My sessions with Richard are ...my treatment to save my life whilst having fun, through hard work with the great support from Richard covering what to eat, how to exercise tailored specifically to me. He even listens when I am I want to let off steam! What more could you ask for...
I Really Hate Them
I hate vegetables. More specifically boiled veg.
They just make me gag.
For someone like me (a fitness and nutrition guy) you may be surprised that I’m telling you this.
But I have to be honest with you, I hate em. Especially boiled cabbage.
It all started in my childhood…
My mother used to crucify the veg and boil it to within an inch of its life.
I have memories from a young age of eating my Sunday dinner at the table with my brother and sister and actually crying and begging to be able to leave the table and not eat my veg.
In the end I used to get a pint of water and just try to wash it down as fast as I could. (that strategy has stayed with me til today)
I have done some crazy things with food over the years in order to achieve different goals.
I once blended two tins of tuna in a pint of water and drank it (a real protein shake grrrr).
At the time it was all about the protein intake for me, but that’s another story.
So obviously being a nutritionist I know the importance of eating vegetables.
They can’t just be – left out.
That’s why I still include them in my diet.
But I do it my way.
My logic is that as long as I consume them and “get them down my neck and inside my body”
It’s all good, right? Oh yes, and in any form, whether it’s liquid, or powdered supplement.
Over the years I have developed a few different strategies, which I will share with you today.
Steamed vegetables for my Sunday dinner – because I like my veg firm, not soft.
Salads – I love Rocket & always add some balsamic vinegar.
Soups/stew/cawl – the taste of the ham or beef and other herbs and spices helps hide the taste of veg.
Roast vegetables – I could eat these every day, just roast a load of veggies with some herbs, delicious.
Green breakfast shakes – these are a tough task for me because I still have the STRONG taste of veg
but as they only take 30 seconds to drink I do it three or four days a week.

For a green breakfast shake put spinach, avocado and banana in a blender with some water
You can try this or with other veg and things like olive oil and raw eggs.
The benefits far outweigh the small amount of discomfort I get while drinking it, my gut health is pretty good and I know this helps.
Greens powder (3 plates of veg in a glass) – this is useful and some have a mint flavour.
Over the last 18 years I have clients who never eat or drink certain foods.
Things like –
Oily Fish (that’s me too)
It’s my job to identify these “gaps” in their nutrition and plug them with an alternative method.
We only do this though after the basics are being done consistently, otherwise it’s a waste of money.
(the basics are cutting out junk food, and eating a high protein low carb diet)
So I wanted to share this with you so you can see that even though you may not like a certain food you can still find a way around the problem.
