Unexpected Lesson From Bridget Jones

Mrs C and I went out to the cinema on Saturday night.

Followed by a meal in a newish place in town, the Zinco Lounge, which was pretty tasty.

We saw the new Bridget Jones film and I would definitely recommend going to watch it.

I won’t spoil it much by telling you that she gets pregnant and doesn’t know who the father is.

There were lots of funny parts, the bit about the”puppet” was hysterical (you’ll have to watch it), but my favourite part was when Bridget was about to have the baby.

The Dr, played by Emma Thompson, advised both potential fathers that they shouldn’t be at “the coal face” when the baby arrives, and said that her husband described it as “seeing your favourite pub burn down.”lolWhere do they come up with this stuff.

Anyway what lessons can we learn from the lovely, but sometimes hopeless, Bridget Jones?

In this film, 10 years has passed since things didn’t work out with Mr Darcy.

The film shows that Bridget, now 43, hasn’t wasted her time, she is in the BEST shape of her life, has lost weight and is keeping herself fit. (Maybe one of the reasons she got herself into such a predicament of not knowing who the father was!).

Now I don’t recommend you follow in Bridget’s way of doing things when it comes to Men.

But I do recommend being like Bridget and realising, you can actually get better as you age.

And be in great shape in your 40’s, 50’s or even 60’s or 70’s.
