Hate Going To The Gym With The Fitties? (try this instead)‏

Had a message from a subscriber:

“I can just about do the healthy eating bit, but my body doesn’t tone up due to the lack of exercise.  I have no interest in doing it on my own, and have no real time to do it, but I know I have to do something, and do feel better when I have exercised.

I get up at 6am for work and return home at 6pm in the evening. Then its cooking dinner, homework and housework, and I am just too tired to think about exercise.

I have tried home exercise DVD’s, got loads of equipment in the garage but its too lonely, and I don’t like the thought of going to the gym with all the fitties.

Do you have any advice please?”.

Sound familiar?

I get this a lot.

She has kinda tried everything, and has now run out of options.

She wants to “do the right thing” for herself and her family.

And feels shitty after so many failed attempts.

My advice would be simple.

Stop trying to add an exercise regimen to your routine on your busy days.

Just exercise on your day off, and do ONE SHORT EXERCISE session per week.

And try and do JUST that every week for a few months.

It’s very achievable, even if you are busy.

And I’m betting you will be pleasantly surprised by the results.

If you are pretty unfit right now, don’t worry.

You don’t need that much exercise to see lots of benefits.

4 minutes is all you need, scientifically speaking.

I would suggest you do as little as 4 minutes exercise, and up to a maximum of about 30.

What should you do in that time?

I am of course biased, but something like this is good:

It includes a simple warm up too.

So next weekend, put aside 5-10 minutes for yourself, and even let the kids (husband) join in.
