Can’t Cook – Won’t Cook

Do you remember that TV show “can’t cook won’t cook”?

I’m probably showing my age now but it was a daily favourite.

For those who never saw it, as the name of the show suggests the basic gist was that there was one person who CAN’T cook and another who WON’T cook.

And they would get them to cook a meal with a chef, with quite random ingredients, in 20 minutes against the clock.

And the audience would decide the winner.

It was great TV.

It was one of those shows where you know they are going to mess things up, which is very funny to watch.

But it was also a great show to encourage people to cook.

So many people don’t even know the basics when it comes to cooking a decent meal from fresh ingredients.

As I have mentioned before, I’m pretty sure that this is part of the reason people reach for the ready made meals and quick fixes like toast and cereal.

And it’s a big reason why, as a society, many of us are overweight and dog tired.

Cooking healthy meals doesn’t have to take long.

In fact it’s not that hard either provided you know the basics and have a few nice recipes to hand.
