Recently I’m back into binge watching the TV show Game of Thrones.
If you haven’t seen it, its a medieval drama about two powerful families who play a deadly game for control of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros.
Whether you watch it or not, there are lessons to be learned.
In a recent episode, Lord Varys, who’s been castrated, and is known to be a skilled manipulator, is trying to underhandedly stop a marriage going ahead.
The angry groom to be, went to see Lord Varys and said:
“You feel so much dread at the prospect of me getting what I want”.
To which Lord Varys replied:
“Who doesn’t like to see their friends fail now and then, I did feel an unmistakable sense of enjoyment”.
You can still see this behaviour today.
Some of your friends want nothing more, than to see you FAIL.
For example, picture this:
You’re out for food with friends, and someone who KNOWS you’re trying to lose weight, encourages you to eat some junk food.
They are like smiling assassins, and will say stuff like:
“Go on, one wont hurt you”
“You don’t need to lose (anymore) weight, you’re gorgeous already”.
Now I’m not saying all your friends want you to be fat and unhappy, they don’t. They just don’t want you to be slimmer or happier, than they are.
And, be it consciously or unconsciously, they may try The Game of Thrones approach to being slimmer than you, and sabotage your efforts.
Like it or not, you know I speak the truth.
You’ve may have been on the giving AND receiving end of this sort of treatment yourself.
So whats the answer?
To lose quite a lot of weight fast.
