Today I’m on a little rant about women who follow “Celebrity” diet plans from the magazines.
I don’t want to spoil the party if this is your thing, maybe you are one of the people who this approach actually works for.
Some of the stuff is quite up to date, but LOTS of it is DATED.
I speak to some of the girls in the gym, who I know are serial offenders, and I jokingly say:
“who’s plan are you following this week?” 😉
It seems to me at least, a bit desperate, and short sighted.
Let me explain before you slap me…
Often the ladies want FAST results and have given themselves a week or so to get in shape for the next “event”.
The problem is with these types of diet they have no consistency and lack a long term approach.
And can leave you with a higher body fat level than when you started, as it causes you to lose lots of muscle.
(Plus the celebrity who endorsed the diet will have put it all back on in a couple of days/weeks/months)
Not very motivating.
But all this is just a reflection of society at large:
-People want things FAST. Instant gratification.
-We don’t think long term
For years I have stood against these approaches.
Because I thought these women were being “RIPPED OFF” and being “MISLED”.
But now I understand you/me/people like a quick fix, and that’s ok, it doesn’t make us bad.
Our attention spans are shorter than ever.
Time is precious people want to lose weight fast.
But of course as with all things, there is a right way and a wrong way to do it.
