Why Tina’s Got A Big “Ugly” Sugar Belly

I’m in the gym chatting with the girls and just doing the rounds and checking where they are all at with their diets.

Tina was telling me how she is struggling with eating well whilst at work.

She has a very stressful job, and is not all that happy.

She explained that EVERY DAY at work, someone brings in things like:

-Tins of biscuits
-Birthday cakes
-Boxes of chocolates
-Bags of sweets

And they make coffee and eat their way through whatever is on offer.

And as a result Tina has a big (and in her words “ugly”) belly, a.k.a SUGAR BELLY.

She hates the look of it and the fact she can’t wear anything without looking pregnant.

But she said she can’t say no to sweet stuff, and thinks she needs more willpower.

Which maybe true.

But in my experience, often the trouble is NOT with a lack of willpower or self discipline.

The problem is stress related.

High levels of STRESS make you unhappy and any WILLPOWER or self discipline you may have had will be NON EXISTENT.

The junk foods, even if they taste good and perk you up for a short while, actually increase feelings of stress and anxiety and can make you grumpy.

So my advice is to eat well, and your stress levels will reduce, EVEN IF the stress doesn’t actually go away.

And in time so your sugar belly will go away too.
