Sometimes life’s a bitch right?
All that hard work and effort that you put in to “improving” things.
And then, just when you think you have got it all worked out.
Someone goes and does something which messes it all up.
And there is no one to blame for this, it’s “just life”.
#1. Injuries. This is a swear word for me. We have very few injuries which actually happen in the gym, but lots of ladies miss sessions because of stuff which happened out in the big bad world. Injuries can RUIN your progress and DESTROY everything you have worked so hard to build.
#2. Kids being ill. This one is out of a parent’s control, stuff just seems to happen with kids all the time, accidents and illnesses. When the kids are not right, your life is put on hold, and depending on the severity of the illness or injury, you could end up missing a few gym sessions or eating from vending machines up at the hospital.
Oh the joys of parenthood.
#3. School Holidays. Another one relating to the little humans, half term can be a total nightmare for the mums I work with, doing activities and going on days out usually involves a few meals and snacks which are not exactly good for weight loss.
The word SURVIVAL comes to mind. Some of the girls find making a batch of cookies or muffins, from my snacks and treats cookbook, really helps them not eat CRAP during school holidays.
#4. Going out. This is the number 1 reason most of my clients come “off track”. When they go out sometimes it can take DAYS for them to get back to NORMAL. That’s why I have developed a “damage limitation protocol”, so they can have a night out and NOT hinder their progress too much.
Of course ALL these things can throw you off track, you are only human and none of us are perfect.
That’s not the aim.
The aim is to reduce how long and how much they throw you off track, and it is different for each person.
The one pattern I see, which may help you, is that if you have a solid routine you will get back on track quite quickly.
But if you’re a little FLAKY and don’t have a solid routine to start…these things will throw you off track and it may take MONTHS or YEARS until you get things going in the right direction again.
Which if you ask me, is a complete waste of time.
So if you want to learn how to be less FLAKY so you don’t get thrown off track, and have a more SOLID routine with your food and/or exercise, you can learn my wicked ways here:
