5 Valid Reasons NOT to Exercise

Most people I meet are not keen to exercise, and quite understandably so.

All that physical exertion, heavy breathing and sweating is enough to put most people off.

So if you’re someone who runs(walks slowly) away from exercise, there is some good news, here is a list of reasons NOT to do any exercise:

#1.  You HATE exercise.  You’re not quite allergic to exercise but might as well be for the amount of times you have ever done it.  You shouldn’t do proper exercise per se, if you’re keen to get fitter, I would start with some walking or find an activity you enjoy.

#2.  You’re injured.  Exercise can make the injury worse.  Take a break and get some rest and maybe some treatment if needed.

#3.  You have a medical condition.  If you have a medical condition it can be very risky to just start exercising if you have been inactive for some time. Get some professional advice before you start.

#4.  You’re sick. If you are unwell you need to be careful.  The general rule that my members follow is that if it’s from the neck down(sore throat or a cough) you should rest and skip the gym.

#5.  You’re trying to lose weight.  Sorry to break it to you but exercise is not as effective at losing weight as a good eating plan.  If weight loss is your goal, learn to eat properly.  *Side note, I accept that exercise does help to keep you motivated in order to eat well.

So there you have it, 5 valid reasons NOT to exercise.

There are of course many benefits to keeping physically fit, but it is optional.
