Like Putting A Gun To Your Head‏

Mrs C and I were watching a bit of TV the other night.

It was a programme called “burn notice”.

It’s about an ex-spy called Michael Westin, who has been burned.

When you’re burned, you’ve got nothing.  No cash, no credit, no job history.  You’re stuck in whatever city they decide to dump you in.  You do whatever work comes your way.  You rely on anyone who is still talking to you – a trigger happy ex-girlfriend… an old friend who used to inform on you to the FBI…Family too… (if you’re desperate).  Bottom line? Until you figure out who burned you…you’re not going anywhere.

In this particular episode, Michael Westin was trying to diffuse a bomb, and the guy who has him held captive was making him do it, whilst holding a gun to his head.

Michael said:

“you might as well pull the trigger, because I can’t do it with a gun to my head.”

The pressure was too much, and he couldn’t diffuse the bomb like that.

Have you ever felt under pressure and not been able to get something done?

Overloaded or overwhelmed to the point where you kinda FREEZE and become UNPRODUCTIVE?

I see this happen a lot with business and with dieting and weight loss.

There is too much information, and people become overloaded.

People are holding a virtual gun to their head and putting themselves under so much pressure, and they end up DOING NOTHING.

My advice today is to take the pressure off yourself.

Stop holding a gun to your head.

Let me remind you that you’re doing this “healthy eating etc” because you WANT TO not because you HAVE TO.

You can eat what you want when you want, but choose not to.

It’s a choice you have made to better yourself, and NOT let yourself be just like everyone else (sick, tired and unhappy).

My advice if you’re suffering from pressure or overwhelm, start off by focusing on the basics.

Get some momentum.
