Why You May Be Overfed BUT Undernourished

Following on from Donna’s story last week (about her thyroid medication not working), someone also told me this story:

(This lesson is extremely important too and if you are trying to lose weight or get healthy, can be mighty helpful as well).

Once upon a time, one of my lovely ladies’ brother was very unwell.

He was in hospital and the doctors were struggling to help him get better.

No matter what they tried, nothing seemed to work, even though they knew what was wrong, he wasn’t responding as expected.

She told me that in the end, the doctor said he was severely undernourished, and
that’s why he wasn’t improving.

And he added that the medications wouldn’t help because his body didn’t have the nutrients to fix itself.

You may be thinking, I’m not deficient it’s not common, it is, it’s more common than you think.

The food chain is screwed.

For example, the incidence of Scurvy (vitamin C deficiency) and Rickets Disease for that matter, here in Wales is high.

Last year, I believe a young boy aged 8 died of scurvy.

You want more evidence?

Ok . . .

The UK (and most developed countries) has “worryingly high” levels of Iodine deficiency, (which may explain why so many people’s thyroids are shot to pieces).

Rant over.

The moral of the story: your body WILL NOT WORK CORRECTLY if you don’t have the basic nutrients, a.k.a.“ingredients”, for it to do so, EVEN with medication from the Dr.

So, this problem is very real.

Most people, it’s fair to say, are OVERFED but UNDERNOURISHED.

And it will also affect important stuff like:
Losing weight
Avoiding illness
Having energy
Digesting your food

And generally being a sexy mofo.

Making life much harder than it needs to be.
